An image is simply a picture. You can upload images and
look at them, just as many other websites do; you can also
identify an image as being a picture of a stamp type, a
watermark, an object in your collection, a page from an
album, etc.
You can upload images from your own computer, or scan a page on the net to find images to upload. Getting an image directly from another page has the advantage that it records the URL, so that you or others can refer back to the original.

Image identificationFor images of stamps and watermarks, StampData has the concept of identification. Identification is always optional. Identification has two stages. The first is to provide a description and issuer. StampData then finds all the stamps matching the description, and any objects of those types. In the second stage, you check off a specific type (or types) or object. |
